http://www.belgianfries.com houden liefhebbers van de échte Belgische friet een oogje in het zeil om te kijken of de term "Belgian fries" al dan niet terecht gebruikt wordt.
Voor de Filippijnen stonden 2 reacties en wel te weten 2 negatieve. Shakey's en de 12 tellende frietkotketen "Belgian Fries" kregen een onvoldoende voor de frietjes die aangekondigd werden als "Belgian Fries"

We currently have 12 stores around metro manila serving belgian fries as one of our core products. Although it may not adhere to your concept of what an authentic belgian fry shoppe should be, we never really intented it to be like that. Yes, the fries that we use are not fresh, but they are real bintje potatoes and we acquire them from a reputable belgian company. That is why we did not hesitate to call our product, belgian fries, for what it really is. Moreover, potatoes here in the philippines are too starchy to make fries from so we decided to go for the next best and most economical option. One thing we do though is we still double fry our fries to make it crisp for our loyal customers, we also have 10 varieties of mayonaise based sauces suited for a variety of pallettes.
Although it is not the traditional way i sincerely hope you do not feel offended or shamed by what we have worked so hard for. We are really blessed and are very proud of the success of our product after years of hard work, trials, and perseverance. So proud, in fact, that we have decided to delete our website because we didnt want to franchise our brand anymore and just keep the business within our family. Anyway thanks for your time, i have to say that your website was one of the reasons we decided to venture into this business, so thank you so much. Je kunt ze inderdaad niet vergelijken met de échte Belgische frietkotfriet, doch ze waren verre van slecht en een welgekomen afwisseling na 3 keer daags rice and fish.
