LTFRB gets new hotline numbers

Tempo Apr 28th, 2012

Manila, Philippines — The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) recently assigned new hotline numbers for its regional offices and ordered operators of public utility vehicles (PUVs) to display them on their fleets.

Starting May 11, the "How's My Driving?" marking in all PUV bodies will be "May Reklamo Ka? Itawag sa LTFRB (Do You Have a Complaint? Call the LTFRB)" that will be followed by the hotline number of the LTFRB office where the PUV is registered.

For vehicles with Certificates of Public Conveyance issued at the LTFRB Central Office, the LTFRB hotline will be (02)4262512 or 09214487777;
Region 1 (072)8884356;
Region 2 (078)3041439;
Region 3 (045)4550550;
Region 4 (043)7561520 or (043)7562334;
Region 5 (052)4821500;
Region 6 (033)3294385 or (033)5085971;
Region 7 (032)2317466;
Region 8 (053)253030;
Region 9, (062)9914130;
Region 10 (088)8575637;
Region 11 (082)2972525;
Region 12 (064)4213082;
Cordillera Administrative Region (074)4449938;
CARAGA (085)3602010;
Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (064)4211767, and
National Capital Region (02)9266346.

The revised marking should be visible at the rear hood portion, right and left side of the PUV unit, except for buses, taxis, express service, school transport, tourist buses and shuttle services, where it should be displayed at the rear windshield, right and left sides of the unit.

The revision was ordered through LTFRB Memorandum Circular 2012-008. According to the three-man LTFRB board, the amendment is meant to "strengthen the government's drive against erring drivers and encourage the riding public to report abuses of transport operators and drivers." (Kris Bayos)
