Clark zou voor ons ook kunnen maar was in kerstperiode net 200-300 € duurder, moest het dezelfde prijs zijn vlogen we naar clark.

Ik had t zelfde, naar clark was snel een paar honderd duurder dan naar manila en veel minder keuze in reis/vlieg dagen,vin t niet erg om een paar dagen in manila te zijn en dan maar met een goeie taxibus(600p) naar Pampanga area te gaan.

Als je met Emerates vliegt is de vlucht meestal goedkoper naar Clark.

ZAVENTEM - De Airbus A380, het grootste passagiersvliegtuig ter wereld, komt mogelijk naar Zaventem. Dat vernam onze redactie uit welingelichte bronnen. Momenteel worden daarvoor aanpassingswerken uitgevoerd, zoals de aanleg van dubbele loopbruggen en het weghalen van een berg grond naast de taxibaan.
Al vele jaren is er op Zaventem sprake om het 'moederschip' van alle passagiersvliegtuigen binnen te halen. De Airbus A380 is met 800 zitplaatsen het grootste ter wereld. Omwille van de omvang kon het tot nu toe niet echt goed landen en manoeuvreren op de nationale luchthaven. Het vliegtuig is bovendien een dubbeldekstoestel: de passagiers van het opperdek zitten zó hoog dat het op dit moment behoorlijk wat moeite kost om hen te laten uitstappen.

Maar dat probleem wordt nu verholpen. Aan een aantal gates van de B-pier komen dubbele loopbruggen en extra kerosinestations. Ook in de gates zelf wordt in extra stoelen voorzien voor de wachtende passagiers. De werken zijn vorige week begonnen en zouden afgerond zijn tegen half december.



De pistes moeten – in tegenstelling tot eerdere berichten – niet verlengd worden voor de A380. Wel moet een grote hoop grond naast de taxibaan nog verwijderd worden. De spanwijdte van de vleugels van Airbus' grootste is immers 79 meter, en het toestel is 72 meter lang. Daardoor zou de hoop grond gevaarlijk in de weg kunnen liggen.

Hoewel de plannen nu in uitvoering zijn, is er op dit moment nog geen contract getekend met een van de grote maatschappijen die een A380 in de vloot hebben. Emirates toonde eerder al openlijk interesse, maar de gesprekken hebben nog steeds niet tot een akkoord geleid, vernamen we uit welingelichte bronnen. Wereldwijd vliegen op dit moment 216 A380's rond.

Cebu Pacific plane overshoots Iloilo runway

A Cebu Pacific aircraft carrying 180 passengers overshot the runway of the Iloilo International Airport late Friday night.
The airline, in a statement, said an incident involving Flight 5J 461 occurred upon landing at the airport at 11:15 p.m. The plane came from Manila.
"The crew initiated emergency evacuation. All passengers are accounted for and are safe. They are being attended to by airport personnel," the statement added.
It did not give additional details.
One of the passengers, Loui Latoza, gave permission to ABS-CBN News to use photos of aircraft after the incident.
The images show emergency personnel and cabin crew helping passengers alight from the aircraft.

Cebu Pacific cancels flights after mishap at Iloilo airport

The runway of Iloilo International Airport will be temporarily closed after a Cebu Pacific aircraft veered off the tarmac Friday night.
As a result, some 33 domestic and international flights of Cebu Pacific to and from Iloilo province were cancelled, the airline announced Saturday.
"Cebu Pacific is working with the authorities to re-open the runway as soon as possible," the statement read.

Cebu Pacific said customers on these flights may rebook their flights within 30 days, reroute to alternate stations, or opt for a full refund or travel fund.
All affected passengers will be entitled to a free one-way travel voucher.
"We sincerely apologize to all our guests on these affected flights, as well as all other passengers affected by the runway closure, for the inconvenience this incident has caused, and appeal for your patience and understanding," Cebu Pacific added.
Late Friday night, Flight 5J 461 had flown from Ninoy Aquino International Airport but failed to stop when it landed at the runway in Iloilo. The aircraft carrying 180 passengers and six crew members overshot and ended up on the grassy field. All were safe.

PAL cancels flights due to bad weather, Iloilo airport closure

The Philippine Airlines (PAL) has cancelled several flights on Saturday due to rains brought by tropical storm "Odette" and because of the closure of the Iloilo airport after an aircraft overshoot the runway.
In its Facebook post, the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) said PAL Express have cancelled flights 2P 2021/2022 Manila to Masbate to Manila and 2P 2084/2085 Manila to Basco to Manila due to bad weather.
Earlier today, PAL also cancelled several flights due to runway closure at the Iloilo airport following a Cebu Pacific aircraft accident Friday night.
The cancelled flights are:
PR 2139/2140 Manila/Iloilo/Manila
PR 2141/2142 Manila/Iloilo/Manila
PR 2143/2144 Manila/Iloilo/Manila
PR 2380/2381 Cebu/Iloilo/Cebu
The company said flights to and from Iloilo will resume once clearing operations are completed.
Meanwhile, PAL said it will be mounting replacement flights and ask for understanding from its passengers.
