MANILA — A fisherman was killed by a crocodile near a pier in Bataraza, Palawan on Thursday, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) said.
Commodore Enrico Evangelista, PCG Palawan district head, said 30-year-old Rommel Siplan was harvesting sea cucumbers near a pier in Barangay Rio Tuba when he was attacked by the crocodile.
Coast guard personnel said they then saw the boat rocking but with no one on board. They then saw the crocodile emerge from the water, biting Siplan on the stomach.
Authorities fired shots at the crocodile, forcing the large reptile to flee.
Siplan died on the spot, with his body almost cut in half after being attacked by the crocodile.

Bataraza, das helemaal in het zuiden, zeker wel 200kilometer van Puerto P. Het gebeurd niet zo heel vaak , maar af en toe is er iemand de sigaar.
