MANILA, Philippines - The Philippines ranked 66th out of 122 countries in the World Economic Forum (WEF) Human Capital Index, released on Wednesday.

Based on the Human Capital Index, the Philippines received a score of -0.165, after getting top scores for education and health indicators.

The Human Capital Index which measures countries on their ability to develop and deploy healthy, educated and able workers through 4 pillars: education, health & wellness, workforce & employment and enabling environment.

For education, the Philippines ranked 65th, with a score of 0.011. For workforce and employment, the country's ranking was 38th with a score of 0.164.

However, for health and well-being, the Philippines' ranking was 96th with a score of -0.473, while for enabling environment, it ranked 78th with a score of -0.344.

"The Philippines follows a similar profile to Indonesia with a 38th ranking on the Workforce and Employment pillar and 96th on Health and Wellness. The Philippines has top scores for the education and health gender gap indicators as well as a strong 15th rank for economic participation. Ranks below 100 on well—being sub-pillar indicators pull down the aggregate Health and Wellness scores," the WEF report said.

Switzerland topped the Human Capital Index, with consistent high scores in all four pillars.

The top 10 was dominated by European countries - Finland (2), Netherlands (4), Sweden (5), Germany (6), Norway (7), United Kingdom (8) and Denmark (9).

Singapore ranked 3rd and was the only Asian country in the top 10, on strong scores in education, workforce and employment, and enabling environment.
