MANILA, Philippines — Singapore Airlines announced on Wednesday that it will be offering promo all-in fares to more than 30 destinations in Southeast Asia, Indian subcontinent, Australia and Europe.

Singapore Airlines Philippine general manager Ranjan Jha said the slashed fares aim to debunk the perception that the airline offers only expensive plane fares.

He believes that now is the best time to offer fares of "exceptional value" because of the strengthening Philippine economy. He added that Filipinos are now bolder and more discerning in visiting tourist destinations.

"The Philippine market is one of the biggest growing market in terms of leisure and tourist. We think this is the right opportunity for us to offer something exceptionally good to the Filipino market. That's why we said we should come out with this promotion," Jha told ABS-CBNnews.com.

Roundtrip tickets from Manila to Singapore are offered at $210 (around P9,000).

Tickets from Manila to Southeast Asia destinations, including Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand, are priced at $310 (around P13,000).

Tickets from Manila to destinations in the Indian subcontinent are priced at $700, while tickets from Manila, Cebu or Davao to Australia and Europe cost $780 and $990, respectively.

Australian destinations include Adelaide, Brisbane, Darwin, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney. European destinations include Barcelona, Copenhagen, Frankfurt, London, Istanbul, Milan, Paris and Zurich.

"This is all-inclusive fares, which include roundtrip, meals, baggage, check-in, everything is included except Philippine travel tax, which for some passengers are exempted," said Jha.

The reduced fares from Manila to Singapore and Southeast Asian cities will make the airline more competitive against local low cost carriers, which Singapore Airlines marketing manager Nenita Dy hopes will allow more Filipinos to see other tourist spots.

"[Passengers] get the best deal. A lot of people say that our rates out of Philippines is very good because there is so much competition here. We are quite lucky in a way because we are able to offer the best for our passengers, get more people to enjoy," Dy said.

"We also want people to experience Southeast Asian destinations outside of Singapore," she added.

The promo fares will be offered until November 30, 2013 on www.singaporeair.com.

Booked tickets to Singapore, and cities in Southeast Asia and India are valid for travel until March 31, 2014 while tickets to cities in Australia and Europe are valid until May 31, 2014.
