The Philippines is about to build a new international airport and maybe we can take a lesson on how Malaysian airport authorities and the CEO of Air Asia, Tony Fernandez, managed to set up a spanking new Kuala Lumpur International Airport 2 (KLIA2).
Fernandez is Malaysia's visionary who started his low-cost carrier Air Asia some decades ago, and now has close to 200 airplanes serving the Asian region.
His success comes from offering the lowest air fares and convincing the Malaysian airport authority to help him achieve that goal by also offering the lowest airport rentals for his planes.
Air Asia now reigns at the modern KLIA2, and the airport complex, Malaysia's pride, has three international runways, with room for two more runways any time there is a need for it.
Recently, Ramon S. Ang, San Miguel and Philippine Airlines president, offered an unsolicited proposal to President Benigno Aquino to build a $10-billion airport on a reclaimed portion of Manila Bay.
It would take maybe 10 years to make it a reality.
Anyway, we can not imagine how Malaysia's airport development would be 10 or 15 years from now, just when our own international airport is about to be inaugurated, granting that our leaders have arrived at a political decision to finally accept Ang's proposal.
But the point is that there should be total cooperation between aviation authorities and airline management to come up with the best combinations, good airport and efficient airlines, that the country can be proud of.
Ang's project would include the construction of an 18-km express railway and 15-km expressway linking it to Manila's central business districts. It would take 11 minutes on the expressway to get between the Makati district and the airport.
Manila's pride at the moment is the 33-year-old NAIA, sitting on 4 sq. km of real estate. Last year it handled 35 million passengers, well beyond its capacity.
The new KLIA2 took four years to build and plenty of controversy accompanied its construction.  But they finished it hoping they would become the best airport in Asia in the near future.

Met de regelmaat van een klok wordt een dergelijk ballonnetje opgelaten in de hoop dat (Bij voorkeur) een buitenlandse investeerder het project op zich neemt.
Als het op terugbetalen komt kan men dan nog altijd beginnen moeilijk doen en de zaak voor 20 jaar of zo in de rechtbank parkeren zoals met NAIA 3 is gebeurt (nog altijd niet opgelost).

Buitenlandse investeerders moeten wel de laatste 10 jaar of zo op een andere planeet hebben geleefd om zich daar nog te laten aan vangen.

Het zal dus nog wel een tijdje duren eer dit wordt verwezelijkt

Over het algemeen heb je daar gelijk in maar het ligt een beetje aan welke investering.
Er zijn  die in de freezone wat hebben neergezet en enkel exporteren, dan is het hier goed toeven als ondernemer blijkbaar.

En ach kleinschalige bezigheidsterapieen zoals n restaurant of shop/office  waar je zelf geen buil aanvalt is ook nog wel te doen, zolang je maar niet verwacht dat je er van kan leven.
