In a disclosure to the stock exchange, the listed company said subsidiary Metro Pacific Tollways Development Corp. has bagged the P27.9-billion contract from both the City of Cebu and the Municipality of Cordova. No contending bid was received during the deal's competitive challenge activities held last month.

By nature, the project will have to undergo a competitive challenge, as it is an unsolicited proposal—deals that the Aquino administration generally shrugs off.

With the award, the toll-road operator will take on the financing, design, construction, and operation and maintenance of the Cebu-Cordova Bridge under an unincorporated joint venture with the local government units.

OK noted. Ik postte dit enkel omdat ik het een mooi project vond, zonder enige politieke bijbedoeling.  Het is mij eender wie het project startte en zal afmaken, zolang het maar ten goede komt aan de Filipijnse bevolking.  Feit is dat de weg van en naar Mactan Airport serieus aan het dichtslibben was, met ettelijke files tot gevolg.  De nieuwe brug zal dit hopelijk verminderen doordat er een route komt naar het zuidelijke deel van de provincie zonder dat men Cebu City moet doorkruisen.

Du30 heeft alle projecten die aanbesteed waren onder Aquino laten doorgaan.
Aquino daarentegen heeft een hoop projecten van zijn voorganger (Arroyo) gestopt omdat hij het nut er niet van inzag of corruptie aanwezig was (wanneer is er geen corruptie in de PH??)
Nu de verkiezingen  volgend jaar in zich komen gaan politiekers credit nemen voor lokale projecten waar ze niks mee te maken hebben....

Ik reageerde omdat in je link de beroemde slogan Build Build Build staat en dat staat voor Duterte maar dat is niet eerlijk naar de echte bedenkers en opstarters in dit geval Aquino....
Voor je kan bouwen heb je eerst bedenken, ontwikkelen door DPWH, right of way problemen al dan niet met rechtzaken oplossen,  leningen aanvragen, bid and award process en daarna kan de winnaar pas aan de slag.
