Promotie Airphil Express

Op dit ogenblik loopt er een promotie voor binnenlandse vluchten bij Airphil Express http://www.airphilexpress.com/
Heb net tickets gekocht Manila Bacolod voor 699 peso (normaal 1080) 
Vreemd is wel dat de terugvlucht niet in promo was bij een H/T ticket, als je de beide vluchten apart boekt heb je wel voor beide het promo tarief.

Zijn wel erg beperkt met de aanbiedingen van hun vluchten
bvb vanuit Davao enkel naar Zamboanga
Vanuit Cebu enkel Bacolod - Cagayan De Oro - Caticlan - Dipolog - Iloilo - Ozamis - Tacloban en Zamboanga
En vanuit Manila geraak ik zelfs nog niet rechtsreeks naar Cebu ..... terwijl hun vlucht-schema-kaart het wel vertoont

mijn vriendin zou in loop van volgende week van Ormoc City naar Manila moeten afreizen om me daar op te pikken aan de luchthaven
op philair moet ze 2,000php betalen enkele vlucht op woendag 5mei.
vertrek van Ormoc.

is dit ok van prijs?
veel goedkoper ga ik niet meer vinden zeker?
heb totaal geen idee over de prijzen.

de prijs is wel normaal hoor. als de vlucht maar door gaat, ormoc is niet zo betouwbaar , maar ik ben wel blij dat ze het vliegveld weer hebben geopend . anders moet je van tacloban of cebu en dat is ook al zo,n eind reisen. vlucht duurd 55 min.

tsja alles is mogelijk daar, ik zou zulks betreuren . het is namelijk een schitterende vlucht Ormoc-Manila met zo,n prop vliegtuig , niet te hoog zodat je een mooi uitzicht hebt.
ik hoop dan ook dat het vliegveldje van Ormoc open blijft .

Ormoc loses flights once more

ORMOC ONCE more losses its flights, now already five times a week except Tuesdays and Sundays, when Air Phils. Express suspends them starting November 18, Thursday, next week. When the airline would resume operations, it is not clear.
The suspension could also jeopardize the Goma Cup, a renowned star-studded golf tournament institutionalized by Richard Gomez a few years back and held every December at Boracay, which he reportedly wants to bring to Ormoc this year.
Maxim Nabong said that no less than Gomez called him up to air his disappointment, because his guest showbiz stars wanted direct flights to the city if they are to come to the tourney.
Maxim Nabong, authorized booking agent of the airline, said the airline management decided to suspend flights from Manila to Ormoc and back for three reasons. He said the reasons are "partly mechanical, partly weather and partly marketing consideration".
The confluence of the three factors have brought the flight suspension because the flights do not have the critical passenger traffic to make it profitable, even as he pointed out that they have had some full flights like last November 1,2, and 3. He added they also had fully booked flights last October, but if spread throughout the two years of operations, the airlines was still losing money on the route.
The Air Phils. Express (formerly PAL Express) started operations in Ormoc two years ago.  He said, "If you plot the passenger traffic versus the operational expense, mas mataas pa rin ang operations", admitting that the airline was losing money on the route.
This, he explained, was largely because of the record of cancellations of the flights. "At the start, we had 80-90 percent passenger volume" but this dwindled when flights became erratic.
He said it is understandable that with such erratic flights, people preferred to book in airports like Tacloban and Cebu where there are more flights and very stable at that. "Amo ngani nag-eroplano kay nagdadali, kay kun diri pa, puede man mag-bus na la", he said in his native tongue. (That's why people take the plane because they want to arrive to their destinations soonest, because if they are not, they could take the bus to Manila).
He said no matter how much they bend their backs to make the plight of stranded passengers comfortable like bringing them over to Tacloban for the next flight, billeting them in a hotel and feeding them, it does not erase the irritation and frustration a passenger feels that his/her itinerary is not followed. "One delayed flight could mean a missed connecting flight or a botched business appointment", he pointed out.
On the other hand, he said that despite the loss of the flights, congressional chief of staff Richard Gomez has assured that the airport improvement works would continue, including the putting up of runway/landing lights.
Nabong said this is one of the reasons why flights in Ormoc were erratic because of the "delays" and the "sunset limitations".
For example, he said, the flight from Manila was delayed and meant it would land in Ormoc by 5:30 PM. The flight is then totally cancelled because the pilots know they cannot take off from the Ormoc airport anymore because of the lack of runway lights.
With Gomez's assurance to put runway lights, he added, he is hopeful that Air Phils. Express might reconsider its position because this would mean they could now flight out even if late in the afternoon.
He also urged pre-booked passengers of the Ormoc flights from November 18 onwards to inform or call their office about their flight details, so they could assist them in transferring their bookings to Tacloban. "There will be no additional cash out that will be entailed", he assured.
This is not the first time that the Ormoc airport lost flights. In 1988, when it was still a very small and rudimentary airport, it had PAL flights for Cebu. With the entry of the fast crafts, the flights were stopped. Then, Aerolift came in with a 19-seater plane for Manila. It was a lucrative operation except that the plane crashed while on another route.
Sometime in 1993, StarAsia fielded a 46-seater plane for Manila. The passenger volume, however, was nil.
Around three years ago, the Asian Spirit also tried their luck in Ormoc but again stopped its operations.

inderdaad jammer. m'n vrouwke is juist de bus op richting Tacloban om dan af te reizen naar Manila.
Hopelijk gaat de gemoedelijke luchthaven in Ormoc gauw terug open.
