An American was stabbed to death in Dauin this morning.  It is not general news as of yet as all of the next of kin (their children) have not been notified and the investigation is ongoing.

So, please, if you know who he is, please keep it quiet for now.

He was one part of an American couple who retired here about a year ago.  They were house sitting when a burglary occurred early this morning and he was killed.

His wife is  confined to a wheelchair.  Another retired American couple (friends of theirs) is presently staying with her.  Her plans now are to get out of the Philippines as soon as the investigation and funeral are completed.

If anyone in the Dumaguete/Dauin/Bacong area knows of anyone with a reliable rental car that is available, please PM me.

Or if you are someone in the area that has a car and is willing to help out, do the same.

I personally knew this couple and broke bread with them many times.

And if anyone has access to Dumagueteinfo forums (my password is not working), please feel free to post this there as well.

Unconfirmed information from a close source in the police says, the NBI of Cebu has taken over the case, since they found out, that the victim's body bore 23 stab wounds.

The police is shifting the investigation from robbery to contract killing.

A 61-year-old American national was found dead with multiple stab wounds in his body inside his room June 28 in Lipayo, Dauin, Negros Oriental.

According to Dauin police officer PO3 Ernesto Credo identified the victim as Thaddeus Blaszak, 61 years old, married, American national was found dead bath with his own blood inside his bedroom in Lipayo, Dauin.

Initial police investigation disclosed that the victim was temporarily residing in Lipayo which he rented the house from an Australian couple, owner of the house.

The police theorized that the victim was robbed of his belongings such as an iPhone, passport and other valuable items. However, the victim's wallet and the P1,220.00 cash was still intact.

PO3 Credo sad the possible charges of the suspect would be robbery with homicide. The police is now looking for the suspect.*RG

Ik ga er nog steeds van uit dat 100% paraatheid en een vleugje of twee paranopia nooit geggegooid zijn....

Maar tot nu toe zijn die artikels zeer mager van inhoud en er word niet van getuigen gesproken...... dus wacht ik het verhaal van zijn Amerikaanse vriend in Dumaguete even af.....
