Air asia is redelijk goed maar ik denk dat cebu Pacific wel meer vluchten heeft en de airports meer bezet daardoor.

Daar ben ik niet zo zeker van.

Laten we ervan uitgaan dat lagekosten maatschappijen (zowel Air Asia als Cebu Pacific) hun vliegtuigen zoveel mogelijk in de lucht houden.

Beiden zijn dus op dat gebied vergelijkbaar maar Air Asia heeft 80 toestellen in dienst terwijl Cebu Pacific er 52 heeft

Sinds 1 januari 2015 is de ruwe olieprijs met 18 % gedaald.

Vandaag nog eens met meer dan 4 % naar 44,5 US $ (WTI) en 45,30 US $ (Brent)

Dit zal zeker invloed hebben op de vliegticketprijzen in de nabije toekomst.

PAL, Cebu Pacific comply with fuel surcharge removal

MANILA — Philippine Airlines (PAL) and Cebu Pacific vow compliance with the directive of the Civil Aeronautics Board (CAB) to remove fuel surcharge on airline fares for international and domestic flights.

PAL said the Lucio Tan-owned airline as well as other local and international carriers operating in Philippines have received the CAB order to cease imposing fuel surcharges citing current oil prices in the world market.

Imposing fuel surcharge is a global industry practice approved by government authorities.

"We have carried out the necessary procedural and system adjustments in view of this latest call from government. Rest assured that PAL will always bear in mind the welfare of our customers and the traveling public," PAL president Jaime Bautista said in a statement.

Cebu Pacific, meanwhile, said it has already removed fuel surcharge in tickets starting January 9 in compliance to the order.

"Cebu Pacific has complied with the CAB resolution and has implemented the removal of fuel surcharges effective January 9," Cebu Pacific vice president for corporate affairs Jorenz Tanada said.

The CAB had earlier warned it would impose sanctions on domestic and foreign airlines that would impose fuel surcharge on passengers.

CAB lifted fuel surcharge on international and domestic flights last week due to lower oil prices. This means no fuel surcharge will be collected from all tickets sold from January 8 onwards.

Nou ik heb de proef maar even op de som genomen want er moet er nog een van de province terug naar manila maar ik zie geen enkel voordeel bij Cebu pacific of PAL in februari a.s.

Hoe men het ook wendt of keert, de consument krijgt het voordeel van de goedkopere olie gewoon dus niet.
Behoudens dan een mededeling dat de fuel surcharge niet meer doorberekend wordt.

Dat is niet helemaal juist, ik had in december nog een extra ticket nodig om het zusje mee te nemen en had een par dagen voor de afreis datum nog promo prijzen, enkel kon het zusje niet mee omdat ze minderjarig was en wij reeds geboekt hadden, maar de aanbiedingen waren er wel.

Nu met het vervallen van de fuel surcharge is er geen enkele kortlopende promo meer, zelf niet een maand verder.

Cebu Pacific reviewing options on P52-M fine

MANILA, Philippines - Cebu Pacific is reviewing Civil Aeronautics Board's decision to impose a P52.11 million fine on the budget carrier for flight delays and cancellations over the Christmas holidays.

"We have received CAB Resolution No. 4 (BM 01-01-12-2015), and are currently in the process of reviewing the document, and its attendant legal ramifications. We note that there may be some matters of fact requiring clarification, and are evaluating all our options accordingly," Cebu Pacific vice president for corporate affairs Jorenz Tanada said.

On Monday, the CAB said it decided to impose a P5,000 fine on Cebu Pacific for each passenger affected by the delays and cancellations on December 24-26, which was estimated at 10,400.

CAB executive director Carmelo Arcilla earlier said the board also issued a strong reprimand to the budget carrier. It also required Cebu Pacific to maintain appropriate service standards for all its personnel.

"The fine is based on a finding by the board that Cebu Pacific's operational lapses and passenger mishandling constitutes a breach of the basic condition of its CPCN (Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity), i.e. to provide proper, suitable, convenient, safe, adequate and reliable air transportation services," he said.

Cebu Pacific had faced complaints from hundreds of irate passengers over dozens of flight delays and cancellations from December 24 to 26. This prompted the government panel to investigate the matter.

Data submitted by Cebu Pacific to the government panel showed the airline had 20 cancelled flights and 288 delayed flights at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport terminal 3 from December 24 to 26.

"What is clear from the panel's initial report is that Cebu Pacific had an appalling number of delayed flights from December 24 to 26. Cebu Pacific is blaming air traffic congestion, but this does not appear to be supported by the facts," Transportation Secretary Jun Abaya had said.

For its part, Cebu Pacific had also blamed bad weather for the cancellation of several flights on December 25, which caused an overspill on the next day and a high level of absenteeism of check-in personnel.

Cebu Pacific also cited the space constraints at the NAIA 3 as one of the reasons for the long queues, as five international airlines recently moved its operations to the terminal.

Nou ik denk niet dat ze hun lesje geleerd hebben maar die 52 mlj alvast proberen terug te vangen van de passagiers aangezien er enkel promo's zijn voor vluchten vanaf juli 2015 daarvoor zijn alle vluchten nagenoeg dezelfde prijs.

Nu heb ik dat niet helemaal uitgespit maar voor Iloilo is dat beeld iig duidelijk, wellicht dat Pinnochio er meer over kan zeggen.
